TEAM GB athlete Amy Hunt took aim at Sydney Sweeney during a live television interview following the Hollywood actress’s controversial NAKED sports advertisement.
After finishing fourth in the 200m final at the inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest, the British sprint star used her post-race interview to share her thoughts.
Hunt recorded a seasonal best time of 22.10 seconds, with American athlete Melissa Jefferson-Wooden winning gold with an outstanding time of 21.47.
Addressing the camera directly, Hunt declared: “Sydney Sweeney, this is what women’s sport looks like!”

Additionally, the 24-year-old, who recently won the European 200m title in Birmingham, remarked: “Hard work, sweat, blood, tears. This is a beautiful evening.”
Hunt's remarks were aimed at Sweeney, who posed nude for a campaign promoting the sports prediction platform Novig, skillfully using various sports items to cover herself.

The bold advertisement has sparked a heated discussion regarding the sexualization of women in sports, with Hunt not being the only athlete to express her discontent.
Australian Olympic water polo player Tilly Kearns voiced her strong disapproval on Instagram, stating that she “absolutely f****** hate[d]” Sweeney’s recent sports advert and shared footage of athletes in action, calling it “real women’s sports content.”
Former Olympic runner Hannah Williams also joined the social media conversation, sharing clips of female sprinters and addressing Sweeney: “This is women in sports, by the way,” emphasizing that female athletes are already fighting for recognition.
In response to the criticism, Sweeney defended her actions by posting images on her Instagram Stories of sports icons who have posed nude, including Serena Williams, Ronda Rousey, Sue Bird, and Megan Rapinoe.
Novig CEO Jacob Fortinsky mentioned to Front Office Sports that Sweeney was attracted to the company because of its commitment to sports.
Fortinsky noted that Sweeney expressed concerns about competing prediction platforms that focused on personal issues, such as “what color underwear I’m going to wear.”
In addition, Sweeney is not just an ambassador for Novig; the 29-year-old holds an equity stake and acts as a strategic partner, significantly influencing the campaign's development.
Nonetheless, after racing against some of the fastest women globally in Budapest, Hunt made it clear that her message was communicated effectively—using the live television platform to illustrate to Sweeney exactly what she believes women's sports should represent.
