Self-assured Lamine Yamal has directed comments towards his Ballon d’Or competitors, claiming he “deserves” to win the esteemed award this year.
The young star from Barcelona achieved a LaLiga title last season and also triumphed in the World Cup.
As Bayern Munich and England’s Harry Kane is seen as the frontrunner, Yamal has confidently made his ambitions for the prestigious award known.
He stated: “I believe I deserve it this year because of my accomplishments.”
“Who would I award it to? The best player in the world. Who will the choice be?”
“That certainly spurs a lengthy conversation…”

LEGEND DEAD
West Ham icon Ludek Miklosko passes away at 64 following battle with cancer as tributes flood in.
The Spanish international was a key member of the squad that won the World Cup, marking a significant milestone for the country.
At the club level, he also played a vital role in their league championship win.
Nevertheless, their Champions League campaign was cut short in the quarter-finals, where they faced a 3-2 aggregate defeat to Atletico Madrid.
He remarked: “I honestly believe that there are two of us who are the best in the world, and I deserve the award for my accomplishments this year.”

“To me, it’s clear that Mbappé and I are the top two players globally, and anyone who watches the matches will see it.”
Despite this newfound assurance, the Barcelona prodigy wasn’t always this confident.
At a press conference ahead of the Champions League match against Feyenoord, Yamal said: “It’s not my call; it’s for you to decide.”
“I don’t feel compelled to advocate for it. Everyone is entitled to their perspective.”
“The responsibility lies with you; I won’t beg for anything.”
Coach Hansi Flick recognized the “special” traits of the young talent, while the club’s vice-president expressed hope that “fairness prevails” and that Yamal receives the prestigious accolade.
Unfortunately for the winger, several other prominent players are vying for the honor.
Sky Bet lists Kane as the favorite at 4/7 odds, while Yamal stands at 11/4. Newly arrived Barcelona player Rodri ranks in third, with Kylian Mbappé following in fourth at 6/1 odds.
