Ryan Garcia Halted by Security with an EGG in His Pocket, Playfully Mocking Conor Benn’s Infamous Drug Test Controversy

RYAN GARCIA had security uncover an EGG in his pocket while he was taking shots at Conor Benn’s infamous drug test controversy.

Garcia is scheduled to defend his WBC welterweight world title on Saturday night in Las Vegas against British contender Benn amid a heated build-up.

In an effort to provoke Benn, the American champion was seen munching on a boiled egg during a press conference on stage.

However, shortly before their face-off, security found the egg in his pocket and required him to hand it over.

Benn previously tested positive for a banned substance in 2022 ahead of his 157lb catchweight fight with family rival Chris Eubank Jr.

The WBC controversially suggested that his failed drug test for clomiphene, a substance associated with testosterone enhancement, might have resulted from contaminated eggs.

Benn promised to fight for his innocence and continued his career in America, achieving two victories at 150lb after his British Boxing Board of Control license was suspended.

Ultimately, the UK Anti-Doping case against him was dropped, enabling him to compete in a two-fight series against Eubank last year—this time at middleweight.

During the lead-up to their match, Eubank, 36, labeled Benn, 29, a “cheat” while dramatically slapping him with an egg during a press conference.

Eubank won their first bout but lost the rematch in November.

Though Garcia wasn’t able to imitate Eubank’s on-stage antics, he nonetheless remarked on Benn’s failed drug test during the event.

While enjoying the boiled egg, Garcia, 28, commented: “He has a lot of experience with eggs, so I thought it was fitting for me to enjoy some today.”

“Honestly, it could use a bit of honey. It feels a tad dry.”

Benn’s last fight was at 150lb, where he secured a points win against the 37-year-old former light-welterweight champion, Regis Prograis.

There’s been substantial conversation regarding his capability of cutting back down to the 147lb limit.

Nevertheless, Benn asserted: “I’ll be disciplined. I’ll show up and make weight easily tomorrow, no issue. I’m ready for a tough fight.

“I’ve never shied away from a fight or a challenge. I’m here, prepared. That’s all there is to it. The talking is over.

“No need to comment on how he looks or his appearance.”
