LISANDRO MARTINEZ brought laughter to CBS as he playfully trolled Jamie Carragher LIVE on air.
The Manchester United defender was in a great mood after scoring a goal in his team’s impressive 4-0 Champions League win against Sabah at Old Trafford.
Liverpool legend Carragher found himself at the receiving end of the jokes.
When asked to pick his favorite from the CBS studio lineup, Martinez, 28, cheekily pointed to Arsenal icon Thierry Henry.
Carragher jokingly responded, “What about the defenders? Defenders look out for defenders.”
But Martinez quickly shot back: “No, I watch quality players, you know.”

Micah Richards then inquired whether the Argentine had ever watched Carragher while he was growing up as a defender.
After a brief pause, Martinez fired another cheeky comeback, saying, “As a player? You were a nice person.”
This remark elicited laughter from everyone in the studio.
Carragher had previously acknowledged his criticism of the United star.

The former Liverpool defender famously questioned whether the 5ft 9in Martinez had the height to succeed in the Premier League after his £57 million move from Ajax in 2022.
Speaking to Martinez post-match on Thursday, Carragher admitted: “Lisandro, when you first came to Manchester United, I said you were too small to thrive in the Premier League.
“You’ve now been here for four or five years, and you’ve completely proven me wrong. It’s fair to say you’ve grown on me.”
Martinez replied: “That’s fine. Sometimes you have to accept comments from you guys.
“You need to be smart.
“If you keep worrying about it, I will play poorly. I’m just trying to remain focused and give my all for this club that believed in me from day one.”
It was a memorable evening for Martinez, who scored United’s fourth goal as they cruised past Champions League newcomers Sabah.
Matheus Cunha got the scoring underway after 27 minutes, followed by Bruno Fernandes doubling the tally just before halftime.
Benjamin Sesko added a third just before halftime, rounding the goalkeeper to net for the second consecutive game.
Martinez sealed the scoring in the 68th minute by reacting quickest to a stray ball in the box.
This win marked United’s first Champions League appearance in over 1,000 days and their largest victory in the competition since 2020.
Michael Carrick’s side will now prepare for Sunday’s Manchester derby.
