The aircraft went quiet as the pilot declared: “It was a hard-fought match till the end, even into extra-time.

He further sparked a wave of excitement by adding: “We wanted to congratulate our Argentinian friends.”
However, in a follow-up moment of the video shared online, the pilot clarified: “Spain has won.”
Argentinian media sources did not find the humor amusing, with some calling the announcement a “sick prank.”
La Voz del Interior reported: “During a flight, as the World Cup reached its climax, a Spanish captain declared a false result that led to celebrations among passengers before revealing that Spain had claimed the title.”

Another Argentinian news outlet condemned the pilot’s actions as “horrible,” stating: “Not only did he commit a dreadful act with poor humor, but he also risked serious consequences aboard the aircraft once the truth came out.
“Passengers could have confronted him or even entered the cockpit. A major mistake.”
The name of the airline and the flight’s destination have not been revealed.
Argentina had to play the entirety of extra-time with only ten players after Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez received a red card.
