MANCHESTER UNITED considered the possibility of reappointing former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer before hiring Ruben Amorim nearly a year ago.
Amorim took charge at Old Trafford last November following the departure of Erik ten Hag.

Nevertheless, the 40-year-old has encountered a tough year in his role.
The Red Devils failed to win any trophies last season, concluding the league in 15th place.
So far this season, they have already been knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Grimsby Town and currently find themselves in 14th place in the Premier League.
Amorim has struggled to fulfill expectations since his arrival at Manchester.
His future appears precarious, with many doubting he will complete a full year in the head coach role.
If he is let go, club officials are said to already have a list of potential candidates ready for succession, similar to the strategy following Ten Hag’s exit last year.
Among those considered for the position was former United legend Solskjaer.
There was brief consideration for a temporary reappointment should Amorim become unavailable.
