Siphesihle Ndlovu, midfielder for Kaizer Chiefs, stated that his goal against Polokwane City played a crucial role in garnering his coaches’ trust and boosting his confidence.
The newly acquired midfielder from SuperSport United netted the winning goal in their Betway Premiership match, securing a 1-0 victory over Polokwane after coming on as a substitute.
The former Orlando Pirates player expressed his delight at scoring so early in the season, highlighting the significance of that goal for him.
“It was against Polokwane City, which speaks volumes about my potential and what I bring to the club. I’m excited it happened so early since I typically score later in the season,” Ndlovu remarked.
“I’m extremely happy, and it was vital for my confidence and for the coaches, especially since I had only spent a brief two-week period with them before the league kicked off.”
“Thus, it was important for them to trust in me and believe in my ability to produce results.”
Currently, the Chiefs are in third place with 13 points after five matches and have achieved five clean sheets.
The 28-year-old is looking forward to a challenging match against Sekhukhune United, who are in second place with the same number of points.
“As a team, we have exerted ourselves to prepare for this upcoming match, which we understand will be tough due to various challenges, a host of individual talents, and a strong opponent,” he stated.
“It’s going to be a demanding game, but we are eager for it.”
The Chiefs have yet to allow a goal as they host Sekhukhune at FNB Stadium this Tuesday at 19:30.
