Tshepang Moremi, the MTN8 star for Orlando Pirates, firmly believes that his teammate Oswin Appollis is destined for greatness, assuring fans that they’ll continue to witness the 24-year-old’s outstanding performances.
Moremi shared his thoughts after the Pirates’ 3-0 victory over Stellenbosch in the MTN8 final at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday night.
Moremi played a crucial role in the team’s triumph, netting two goals and assisting another scored by Tshegofatso Mabasa.
Appollis made an impact as a substitute in the second half, helping Moremi score both of his goals.
Moremi credited part of his achievement to guidance from his coach, stating, “Before I came on, the coach told me about the gaps that Stellenbosch were leaving open, and that’s how I managed to find the net, as I noticed many areas they were not covering defensively.”

This victory is a historic milestone for Pirates, as they become the first team in PSL history to secure the MTN8 title four times in a row.
Moremi expressed his excitement for winning his first trophy since starting his football journey, saying, “I’m thankful for this trophy, and everything happens in due time.”
“I’m overjoyed to have won this trophy and to have scored as it’s my first since embarking on my football career.”
The former AmaZulu player, named man of the match, also offered gratitude to God for his talents and commended his coach for his guidance.
“I want to thank God for blessing me with this talent, and the coach encouraged me to stay concentrated on the game. I’m thrilled that the team achieved this victory.”
Moremi praised Appollis, declaring, “That young man (Appollis) has a promising future, and I can assure fans they’ll be pleased. This is merely the start; the best is yet to follow.”
This victory marks an encouraging beginning to the season for Pirates, with both Moremi and Appollis playing key roles in the win. Both players joined the club less than three months ago from AmaZulu and Polokwane City, respectively, and have already made a significant impact by contributing to the team’s trophy win in their debut season.
