An iconic racehorse dubbed the ‘shining star of losers’ has died at the age of 29, having never triumphed in any of her 113 races.

Reports reveal she fell ill on Monday, with her condition worsening overnight.
She tragically succumbed to colic yesterday, surrounded by her caregivers at the sanctuary where she spent her retirement.
Haru Urara was so beloved that she was featured in the anime game Umamusume: Pretty Derby.
The game developers shared on X: “With heavy hearts, we announce that Haru Urara passed away on September 9.
“The legacy of this legendary racehorse inspired the character with the same name in Umamusume: Pretty Derby.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to all those who looked after Haru Urara.”
Yuko Miyahara, a caretaker at Martha’s Farm in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, stated: “Recently, more people, not just from Japan but from abroad as well, have been visiting Haru Urara.
“It’s truly heartbreaking.”
