YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul and his team are optimistic about securing this fight, which could stand as one of the biggest upsets in boxing history.
However, Hearn, who has consistently promoted AJ, believes only one outcome seems probable if the match takes place.
On Tuesday, Hearn shared a video on his Instagram story of Joshua’s devastating second-round KO of former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou from last March.
His caption read: “Be careful what you wish/ask for.”
Hearn’s serious caution to Paul—who he previously sued for alleging that Hearn bribed a judge—followed his update on the ongoing negotiations.
He informed The Ring Magazine: “This is very real.
“I had a productive discussion with Nakisa for about an hour on [July 30], and now I believe they genuinely want the fight. I really do.
“Nakisa was very genuine and is concerned about the fight, but Jake firmly believes he can win or at least be competitive in it.

“And now, considering the significance of the fight, I believe there’s a strong chance it could happen.
“If I had to rate that chance, I’d place it at 50:50.
Former world champ fears for Jake Paul’s health amid Anthony Joshua fight talks
“It was a very productive conversation, and we anticipate it to continue in the forthcoming weeks.
“If they truly desire it, it will come to fruition.”
He added: “In my view, it’s a mismatch; it’s dangerous.
“This is someone who began as a cruiserweight and is now stepping up to heavyweight.
“I think Joshua is still processing it until he knows it’s a real possibility.
“After my conversation this week, I’d say it’s definitely a possibility.

Eddie Hearn’s warning to Jake Paul
“AJ understands the commercial implications and views this as monumental.
“This could arguably be the biggest fight ever staged anywhere.
“It would likely rank among his highest earnings ever.
“While the boxing world is important, this would transcend it.”
Joshua, 35, hasn’t competed since his crushing fifth-round KO loss to Daniel Dubois at Wembley last September.
Paul last fought in June, where he secured a hard-fought victory over former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
