Manchester United legend Keane joined Mark Pougatch and Ian Wright on ITV to evaluate the team’s performance.
He was blunt, criticizing the England players for their lack of intensity and communicating as if they were in a café.
Keane voiced his disappointment: “For both of the first two goals [England] conceded tonight, I didn’t see any urgency from them.”
“While you shouldn’t throw teammates under the bus, it’s crucial to start vocally supporting each other and ensuring everyone is performing their role.
“Concerning the second goal, they acted like they were in a café, casually discussing, ‘Maybe I should have gone for that.’
“Do your job! That’s what good teammates do. Perform your duty, or we’ll be in trouble.”
England’s defeat was their first against an African nation.
With only a year until the World Cup, Keane worries that there may be underlying issues within the team.

He added: “On one hand, you don’t want to overreact.
However, the indicators are troubling. These past few days have been tough for England.
‘They looked bored’ – Roy Keane criticizes England’s ‘poor attitude’ as Thomas Tuchel admits ‘I didn’t like’ Andorra performance
They secured a win [against Andorra], but you sensed a lack of rhythm.
“The manager must be concerned. Observing this England squad, I think something is amiss.
“They don’t seem to be a happy group.
“Are they really united? Is there genuine camaraderie among them? I’m not convinced.”
Keane specifically pointed out Kyle Walker for being “lazy” after England lost a one-goal advantage at the City Ground.
The AC Milan defender failed to track his opponent as Ismaila Sarr scored the equalizer.
Keane expressed frustration: “If this were a young right-back just starting out, you’d attribute it to inexperience.
“But he’s been lazy. He is a seasoned defender who didn’t make the effort to get back.
“You instruct defenders to return.
“He’s just standing there and seems indifferent about tracking back.
“While I acknowledge he’s faced challenges recently, for a player of his caliber, these errors are unacceptable.”
Thomas Tuchel now has the summer to reflect on his upcoming England squad ahead of a home World Cup qualifier against Andorra.
The Three Lions will then have a tough away match against Serbia on September 9.
