A last-minute goal from Cheikh Sabaly sealed England’s fate, marking their first defeat under manager Thomas Tuchel.
Substitute Bellingham thought he had leveled the score in the 83rd minute, only to see a goal by Levi Colwill controversially ruled out for handball.
This contentious decision enraged England’s players and Tuchel, particularly since Colwill appeared to have not intentionally handled the ball.
However, England’s performance failed to secure a win, leaving them fortunate that the match was just a friendly, allowing Tuchel to remain unbeaten in World Cup qualifiers.
In a moment of frustration, Bellingham launched the ball skyward as referee Stephanie Frappart blew the final whistle at the City Ground.
He then kicked a water cooler near the technical area before running after the assistant referee.
Captain Harry Kane had to step in, nudging the former Birmingham player back onto the pitch to ease the situation.
Yet, Kane also voiced his frustration with the officiating, claiming that the referees “didn’t know the rules.”

Tuchel confronted Frappart and her officiating team in the center of the pitch post-match.
Fortunately, Bellingham soon calmed and sweetly handed his shirt to a young fan before heading down the tunnel.

However, the talented midfielder has a history of venting his frustrations on pitch-side objects after defeats.
Notably, he kicked a VAR monitor in frustration following Real Madrid‘s last-minute defeat to Valencia in April.
Bellingham was initially on the bench during England’s first friendly under Tuchel but was brought on with 19 minutes remaining as England found themselves down 2-1.
Kane opened the scoring for the Three Lions early, but Ismaila Sarr and Habib Diarra turned the match around.
While the referee reviewed Bellingham’s goal on the VAR monitor, former Arsenal defender Lee Dixon remarked on ITV: “That’s clearly not a deliberate handball.
“The arm movement is due to him competing for the ball. I don’t agree with that call.”
Ian Wright later added: “Disallowing the goal is ridiculous.”
