‘The Tartan Tornado’ Taylor is entering this match after two losses, having been defeated by Teofimo Lopez and then Jack Catterall in their rematch in May 2024.
Ekow ‘The Engine’ Essuman holds a record of 21-1-0, with eight of those wins coming by KO.
Essuman’s only loss took place against Harry Scarff in 2023, by unanimous decision in Manchester, making him eager to become the first to knock out Essuman and reclaim his form.
Conversely, Essuman aims to be the first to achieve a KO against Taylor, with both of Taylor’s setbacks occurring by unanimous decision. The winner of this bout will secure the WBO international welterweight championship.
