James Maddison Emulates John Terry in Europa League Final, Leaving Fans Asking, “Is This a First?”

JAMES MADDISON has been accused of “pulling a full John Terry” after Tottenham ended their 17-year wait for a trophy.

Spurs clinched a 1-0 victory against Manchester United in a gripping Europa League final this evening.

Maddison, 28, couldn’t play in the match due to a knee injury.

He arrived in a sharp suit and white T-shirt for a pre-game interview with TNT Sports.

As the final whistle blew, he was seen in the same outfit, hurrying onto the field to join goalscorer Brennan Johnson in celebration.

Impressively, Maddison found time to change and appeared in his full kit for the trophy presentation.

This led to comparisons with John Terry, who famously did something similar when he was suspended during Chelsea’s Champions League victory in 2012.

Despite not being on the squad, Maddison managed to earn a medal, while captain Son Heung-min did not.

Maddison later shared that he was instructed to wear his full kit to receive a medal, stating: “I didn’t want to pull a John Terry.”

“I played a crucial role leading up to this moment, and I deserved this just like everyone else.”

Tottenham ratings: Bissouma excels while Udogie struggles under pressure

BRENNAN JOHNSON was the star of the night as Tottenham concluded their 17-year drought for a trophy with a Europa League win.

Despite missing James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski, Spurs achieved an extraordinary victory against Manchester United.

Johnson scored the only goal, nudging it in from a corner during a tussle with Luke Shaw, sending fans into raptures.

Yves Bissouma also deserves recognition, being a dominant force in midfield.

However, Destiny Udogie had a tough time keeping up with United’s Amad Diallo.

Spurs managed just three shots and recorded only 27 percent possession, completing a mere 115 passes throughout the match.

Nonetheless, it didn’t matter, as United never seemed close to equalizing and extending the match into extra time.

Furthermore, fans commented: “There was no medal for Son because James Maddison, who wasn’t on the field, went full John Terry and put on a kit to claim one.”

Maddison wasn’t the only one; injured players Lucas Bergvall and Dejan Kulusevski also changed into full kits for the trophy celebrations.

Maddison was spotted sharing an affectionate kiss with his partner Kennedy Alexa on the pitch.

He made 11 appearances in the Europa League this season, scoring three goals that contributed to their success.
