Ricky Hatton, a close friend, read Frank’s acceptance speech at the British Boxing Awards on March 28.
Now 63, the former heavyweight champion is still waiting to receive the actual award.
He shared with The Sun: “I was overjoyed to have won.
“Ricky Hatton delivered my acceptance speech, yet I still haven’t received the actual award.
“I’m confused as to why it hasn’t arrived, as I want to show it off to the world.
“My office has asked multiple times but has had no success.”
Hatton co-hosted the awards with fellow boxer Nicola Adams and presented a speech Bruno had prepared for the occasion at the Langham Hotel in London.
In the speech, he noted: “I apologize for not being there tonight. Believe me – I would much rather be with you than in the hospital undergoing daily tests.
“Thank you to the event organizers and everyone who voted for me to receive this prestigious award.”
Bruno fell seriously ill during a long flight and spent several weeks hospitalized in both Qatar and London.
