He defeated Mark Williams with an 18-12 score, claiming the esteemed trophy in Sheffield.
However, Hearn, the chief of Matchroom and a prominent snooker promoter, insists that the championship might eventually shift from its traditional venue.
When asked about the possibility of snooker’s flagship event remaining at the Crucible, Hearn told Radio Snooker and Nick Metcalfe: “I hope so, but we have to face reality.”
“A crucial aspect of professional sports is centered around finances.”
“While we earnestly want to stay here, it needs to align with the overall vision for the sport’s future.”
“This sport is expansive.”
“We shouldn’t limit our perspective.”
“As long as everyone is reasonable and respectful, I remain optimistic that we can continue here.”

‘Not fit for purpose’ – Barry Hearn criticizes the Crucible, hinting the World Snooker Championship may ‘travel the world’
The Snooker World Championship commenced in 1927 and has been held at the Crucible since 1977.
Currently, there exists a 50-year agreement that lasts until 2027.
Nonetheless, Hearn has openly shared his intentions to seek alternatives if significant enhancements to the 980-seat venue are not made, as he deems it “not fit for purpose.”
His strong business ties in Saudi Arabia could facilitate a Middle Eastern venue, while Xintong’s increasing fame indicates that China might also be a feasible option.
Discussions with Sheffield Council are expected in the coming months to explore a resolution that would keep snooker at its “spiritual home.”
Earlier, Hearn stated: “I desire greater respect. We hold Sheffield in high regard. We appreciate the Crucible.”

“In any relationship, if the other party does not reciprocate your feelings, failure is certain.
“At present, we are engaged, and I hope that in the upcoming months we can find common ground. Let’s maintain a hopeful outlook.
“Both parties are satisfied with the existing arrangement, but we cannot overlook the tough realities of professional sports, chiefly defined by prize money.
“We need to implement significant improvements for the players, who rightly deserve it. This event will draw an audience of 300-400 million. Does it receive the respect it merits?
“This is a major event in England. However, there are extensive financial resources abroad available for hosting the World Snooker Championship.”
Xintong garnered £500,000 in prize money after his victory on Monday.
Nonetheless, Hearn aims to increase the winner’s prize to match the £1 million awarded to the darts world champion.
