
BOXER Tyson Fury’s father is set to face trial next year following allegations that he drove in a closed motorway lane.
John Fury, 59, a former bare-knuckle fighter, reportedly disregarded signs indicating that the lane was closed for safety reasons.

His 1992 Mercedes 190E was photographed driving in a closed section of the M6 between Keele and Stoke last July.
Smart motorways, which do not feature a hard shoulder, use signs above each lane to indicate if it is open or closed.
A red ‘X’ displayed indicates that a lane is closed, and all vehicles are required to switch to a different lane.
Fury was charged by mail, but has allegedly not disclosed the identity of the driver to Staffordshire Police.
Mr. Fury, a resident of Wilmslow, Cheshire, did not attend the hearing at North Staffordshire Justice Centre yesterday.
Nonetheless, the prosecution indicated that he submitted a handwritten not guilty plea to two charges.
A trial date is set for February 23 next year.
Fury was present in his son’s corner during Tyson’s first world title fight loss to Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk last May.
