Garnacho set to break Ronaldo’s record
Alejandro Garnacho is dedicated to remaining with Manchester United and may be on the verge of eclipsing a record held by his idol Cristiano Ronaldo, writes MARTIN BLACKBURN.
The Argentine winger has played down the comparisons with Ronaldo as he nears the milestone of one of the legendary Portuguese player’s achievements.

Nonetheless, Garnacho understands that such comparisons are likely to continue as long as he dons the United jersey. After all, it was Ronaldo who assisted the young winger’s first goal for the Red Devils in November 2022.
When the six-time Ballon d’Or winner left Old Trafford for the last time shortly after, the Stretford End immediately began singing his song for Garnacho. Deep down, he wouldn’t change that for anything.
Garnacho also imitated Ronaldo’s famous celebration after scoring an overhead kick against Everton and was seen wearing CR7-themed underwear during a cup match at Wigan last season.
Thus, he is fully aware that he has the chance to surpass his idol before the end of the season.
Ronaldo recorded 25 goal contributions in the Premier League before reaching 21, and following his goal in Sunday’s match against Brentford, Garnacho is now just one goal shy.
