But the most surprising moment of the evening happened before the first punch was thrown.
In the lead-up to the match, Eubank Jr shared insights into his complicated relationship with his father, Eubank Sr.
The iconic former boxing champion had publicly expressed his concerns about his son fighting the son of his 90s rival, Nigel Benn.
Remarkably, just prior to the fight, they reconciled as Sr accompanied Jr to the ring, much to the crowd’s delight.
Eubank Jr has since reflected on this pivotal moment, noting it gave him a much-needed boost after a period of solitary training.
The PokerStars champion, speaking exclusively to SunSport from the EPT Monte Carlo, remarked: “Family is everything, you know? Coming together at the last moment meant so much to me.
“I had expected to be alone. I walked into that weigh-in solo while gearing up for the fight.
“I saw Conor surrounded by his team and his father, but deep down, I understood that wouldn’t be my reality on fight night.
