This marks the latest shift by the broadcaster as they aim to become “more agile and better equipped to serve audiences.”
High-profile individuals like Geoff Shreeves, Martin Tyler, and Bianca Westwood have also left their positions in recent years, along with various match reporters.
The most recent notable journalist to depart is Alan Myers, who dedicated over two decades to Sky Sports.
He expressed on Twitter: “After a 23-year association, I have made the decision to leave Sky Sports News. It was a challenging choice, but one that I felt was necessary.
“It has been an incredible journey since my first report at a Bolton Wanderers outbound course, to covering [the] World Cup finals, ECL Finals, and everything in between!
“I couldn’t have asked for a better company with such talented and professional colleagues. I am thankful to each of them for their support and friendship over the years.
“It’s been a remarkable journey, filled with unforgettable memories, headline stories, and travels to over 30 countries. Thank you.”
Myers primarily reported from the North West and North East during his time at Sky Sports News, covering teams such as Manchester City, Newcastle, Liverpool, and Everton.
