Brooks-Meade suffered a stroke and a brain bleed a month before his untimely passing.
He was involved in Fulham’s youth system and often played for the reserve team but never made a first-team debut.
The London native had a loan stint at AFC Wimbledon in 2007 and was close to signing with Bournemouth when Fulham released him.
Instead, he had a successful career in Cyprus, playing for seven clubs in that league.
Brooks-Meade earned 23 caps for the Montserrat national team.
During international duty, he developed a strong friendship with the nation’s captain and Colchester striker Lyle Taylor.
Taylor shared with the Daily Mail: “When it’s someone your age with whom you’ve shared so many years and witnessed their growth as both a footballer and a person, it hits hard.
“It sounds cliche, but Corrin was a leader. He was unyielding. Honestly, he was probably the best among us.”
“He was an amazing person, and we are all fortunate to have shared special moments with him.”
Fans offered their condolences with remarks such as: “So sad. My thoughts are with the family.”
Another commented: “Terrible news. He was a fantastic player for us; I’m completely shocked by this.”
A further supporter expressed, “Rest in peace, Corrin. It’s heartbreaking to hear of your passing, friend.”
Numerous fans and ex-teammates have contributed to a GoFundMe page set up in his honor.
Despite retiring from club football in 2021, Brooks-Meade continued to play for Montserrat until last year.
After retirement, he started an Afro-Caribbean food business in Cyprus.
His uncle was Raphael Meade, who played for Arsenal from 1981 to 1985.
