Gallants’ Coach Commends Players – Sportswire

Marumo Gallants’ coach, Abdeslam Ouaddou, expressed his pride following the team’s 2-1 victory over Kaizer Chiefs in the Betway Premiership at FNB Stadium on Saturday.

Goals from Trevor Mathiane and Daniel Msendami ensured a crucial win for Bahlabane Ba Ntwa against Amakhosi, who had previously defeated them 2-1 in the first round.

“When you are fighting to save the club, you let the players know it’s the same pressure as competing for the title,” Ouaddou stated, highlighting the importance of each match in their relegation battle.

This win lifted Gallants to 10th place with 30 points, as they prepare for two crucial matches against Magesi and Chippa United.

Ouaddou praised his players for their hard work and dedication, saying, “We take pride in them; training has been rigorous from the start as we challenge them. They have worked hard, and on Saturday, they stepped up.”

Looking ahead, Ouaddou emphasized the need to stay focused and strive for the remaining six points.

The Moroccan coach acknowledged the determination of teams in relegation battles, stating, “When you watch teams facing relegation, their resolve becomes evident. They approach matches as if they’re fighting for their lives, especially Magesi, and I enjoy their style.”

On a personal note, Ouaddou expressed his satisfaction with working in South Africa, saying, “I intend to stay in the PSL; it’s one of Africa’s top leagues. I’m very happy to work in South Africa due to the structured nature of football here. There are individuals with a game plan aspiring to achieve great things.”

The former AS Vita coach also highlighted the quality, strong organization, and structured clubs in South Africa, which he believes create a successful atmosphere.

“You can see that many clubs (Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates, and Stellenbosch) have thrived in African competitions. I’m enjoying my time here, and I find it phenomenal to be in South Africa,” he added.

With two matches remaining, Gallants aim to capitalize on their current momentum and secure their position in the Premier Soccer League.

Ouaddou’s gratitude for his players and his commitment to the PSL underscore the team’s drive to achieve their goals. As the season nears its end, Gallants’ fans will be eagerly watching their team’s performance in the concluding games.
