Former Napoli talent Nathaniel Amoah has been sentenced to prison after being found guilty of participating in an armed carjacking.
The 23-year-old Dutch defender played for the current leaders of the Italian league during the 2020-21 season.

Amoah played alongside former Chelsea player Kalidou Koulibaly and Belgian star Dries Mertens during his time with the Serie A club.
Originally from Amsterdam, he later joined Norwegian club Egersund and Belgian teams Patro Eisden and Tongeren.
On Monday morning, a court in Kortrijk, Belgium, sentenced the right-back to two years behind bars.
Amoah was also ordered to pay a fine of £2,800 for his involvement in stealing a hired Mercedes from a driver last July.
His accomplice, known only as Yasser A., received the same sentence. The 28-year-old is also a Dutch national.
During the trial, prosecutors stated: “A man wearing a balaclava threatened to use a weapon to force the driver to surrender the keys to his rented car.”
This incident took place at an Esso petrol station in Marke, near Kortrijk in western Belgium.
The stolen vehicle was recovered in nearby Wevelgem an hour later, and both suspects were arrested later that same day.
The trial revealed that Amoah and Yasser were found with five mobile phones, a balaclava, and clothing that matched what was seen on the security footage from the robbery.
Amoah’s attorney, Gregory Everaert, contended: “The CCTV footage showed he was merely walking around the parking area and did not approach the victim’s vehicle.”
Amoah has a history of theft convictions in the Netherlands and has been without a club since leaving Patro Eisden two summers ago.
