Ancelotti is said to have informed important figures within the team about his decision to depart.

Despite guiding the squad to a Champions League victory of late, they faced an exit at the hands of Arsenal earlier this month.

He now seems poised to take on international management for the first time.

Reports indicate that Ancelotti has reached a preliminary deal with Brazil to take over as head coach for the 2026 World Cup.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano mentions that the contract will be “effective from June, NOT after the Club World Cup.”

This allows for a “friendly separation” between Madrid and Ancelotti after a four-year collaboration.

Brazil is recognized as the most successful nation in World Cup history.

However, they have encountered quarter-final exits in four of the past five tournaments.

The last time they lifted the trophy was in 2002.

Ancelotti’s existing contract with the Bernabeu continues until the summer of 2026.

Real Madrid’s president Florentino Perez will likely need to appoint an interim manager for the Club World Cup, which will be revamped this summer in the USA.

Director of Football Santi Solari is reportedly the top candidate for the position.

However, other reports suggest Madrid may look to approach their main target Xabi Alonso before the tournament kicks off.

Ancelotti has experienced two fruitful spells in Madrid, first taking charge in 2013.

Throughout his illustrious career, he has secured five Champions League titles.

During his time at the Bernabeu, he has captured three LaLiga titles and two Copa del Rey trophies, in addition to winning the Champions League three times.

Recently, La Gazzetta dello Sport noted that AC Milan had reached out to the Italian concerning a possible return to the San Siro.

Ancelotti clinched both the Serie A and Champions League titles twice with the Rossoneri while managing from 2001 to 2009.

AS Roma  has also expressed interest in Ancelotti as a potential replacement for Premier League title winner Claudio Ranieri.
