The Irishman faces Carlos Prates needing a win

Machado Garry, 27, is re-entering the Octagon following his first defeat against Shavkat Rakhmonov last December.

Although the fight concluded with a decision, many fans were impressed with Garry’s performance, as he came close to claiming victory.

Recognized as one of the most skilled fighters in the division, the Irishman is keen to get back on track; however, he must first tackle the rising UFC welterweight, Carlos Prates.

The Brazilian contender has shown to be a formidable adversary, drawing the attention of UFC president Dana White during The Contender Series and quickly moving up in the ranks.

With impressive knockout wins against Li Jingliang and Neil Magny, the 31-year-old has ascended to the 13th position in the welterweight standings after merely a year with the organization.

In the co-main event, UFC veteran Anthony Smith will have his final fight against Zhang Mingyang in the Light-heavyweight division.

After recent losses to Roman Dolidze and Dominick Reyes, many fans thought they had witnessed the last of ‘Lionheart’ — he has confirmed that this bout will close out his career.

Smith will go up against the rising contender Zhang Mingyang, a Chinese prospect who made waves in the UFC last year with first-round knockout victories over Ozzy Diaz and Brendson Ribeiro.
