Sharks Gear Up for Ulster Showdown

On Saturday evening, the Hollywoodbets Sharks will face Ulster at Kingspan Stadium, looking to conclude their overseas phase of the Vodacom United Rugby Championship pool stages with a win.

Head coach John Plumtree has made only two changes to his starting lineup, largely retaining the team that claimed victory over Edinburgh last week. Jason Jenkins steps in for the injured Emile van Heerden at lock, while James Venter will start instead of Phepsi Buthelezi, as the two loose forwards swap positions for this match.

Continuity is vital in any team sport, and after their away win against a challenging opponent last week, the Hollywoodbets Sharks will look to maintain that momentum in the forthcoming match.

From the team’s base in Belfast, centre Andre Esterhuizen emphasizes the positive mindset of the squad, eager to wrap up their two-week tour successfully before returning for two home games at Hollywoodbets Kings Park.

“We’ve learned valuable lessons from our game against Edinburgh, and we’ve had a fantastic training week gearing up for this clash with Ulster.

“The players are concentrated and ready for the challenge; morale is high, and the atmosphere within the camp is outstanding.

“Thus far, our tour has been a success, but we recognize that we are up against a formidable challenge with Ulster. This match is crucial for them as it marks their final home game, and they will be highly motivated. Moreover, some players will be playing their last home match for Ulster, so we anticipate a strong performance from them.

“We expect a physical and fast-paced encounter; they possess a powerful attacking capability, so it’s essential that our defense is solid. We must also be sharp in attack to seize any opportunities, striving for a strong conclusion to the tour.”
