He perfectly positioned himself to pot the final black with a seemingly simple shot into the corner pocket.

But instead of playing conservatively, Murphy opted for a bold move, bouncing his shot off both sides of the table before completing the clearance.

This daring play drew an enthusiastic response from the audience at the Crucible in Sheffield, with some spectators even giving him a standing ovation.

The 42-year-old returned to his chair with a sly grin.

Fans on social media were equally impressed, with one user exclaiming, “Shaun Murphy is on FIRE!! Amazing!”

Another noted, “Shaun Murphy is taking the pi**! 138 break and all around the table for the final black.”

A third even joked that Murphy should already be declared World Champion, saying, “Congrats to Shaun Murphy for winning the 2025 Snooker World Championship.”

The Magician’s stunning shot allowed him to take a commanding 5-1 lead in the first-round match.
