ANTONY has shared his thoughts on his relationship with Ruben Amorim after the Manchester United manager chose to loan him out in January.
The 25-year-old winger moved to Spanish side Real Betis during the winter transfer period due to difficulties in fulfilling the expectations attached to his substantial £86 million price tag at Old Trafford.

The Brazilian winger has regained his form in Spain, making meaningful contributions with eight goals in 16 matches for Betis.
This represents a marked improvement from his stint at United, where he scored just one league goal over the last two seasons.
Antony noted that he harbors no ill feelings toward Amorim regarding his loan, expressing admiration for the Portuguese manager despite their brief working relationship.
In an interview with ESPN Brazil, he remarked: “I had a short time with [Amorim], but he’s an excellent coach. Very perceptive and intelligent.”
“United is experiencing a challenging period at the moment, but he is a strong coach.”
“I had a good relationship with him, but I was looking for a fresh challenge, and I genuinely wish him the best for the rest of the season.”
Antony also praised Erik ten Hag, who was responsible for bringing him to United in 2022 and coached him during their time at Ajax.
“Erik ten Hag is a coach I hold in high regard,” he added.

“He provided immense support to me in the Netherlands and in England, even though opportunities didn’t arise as I had wished.”
“Ultimately, it’s the coach’s decision, and I have no hard feelings whatsoever. On the contrary, I am very grateful for everything he has done for me and all the conversations we’ve had.”

“He will definitely be an important character in this journey as he has helped me significantly.”
Antony is certainly thriving at Betis, with the club’s CEO Ramon Alarcon recently stating his desire to keep the winger for a longer period at the Villamarin Stadium.
Meanwhile, United’s Amorim noted that Antony’s improvement could be linked to the less physically demanding nature of Spanish football.
In an interview with TNT Sports, he commented: “Facing any team in England is highly physical. Lacking sufficient physicality will lead to numerous challenges.”
‘Antony is enjoying a much better performance now in Spain. Various factors contribute to this, but I assure you that the physicality aspect plays a role.”
