In the 61st minute, with the score at 1-0 and Deportivo Riestra down a player after Facundo Mino received a red card moments earlier, a ball was sent into the penalty area.
During the scramble, the ball found its way to Arce, who was positioned on the goal line and picked it up.
In a surprising twist, he dashed to the edge of the area, rolled the ball out, and started dribbling up the pitch.
The 33-year-old advanced halfway through his own half before chaos ensued.
As he tried to pass the ball to the right, he was confronted by opposing players.
Unfortunately, the referee got in the way of his passing option.
While still trying to move the ball, Arce was unaware of Instituto star Jeremías Lázaro sneaking up from behind, who then intercepted the ball and passed it to a teammate.
The ball fell to Gaston Lodico, who had already found the net shortly after halftime.

With Arce far from goal, Lodico, 26, expertly chipped the ball from 30 yards out, and the back-pedaling defenders could not stop it from scoring, making it 2-0.
Arce made his way back to goal, with his head down and hands grasping his head, seemingly in disbelief at his own actions.

Viewers were left bewildered by his play, with one commenter stating, “Bro thought he’s the main character.”
Another remarked, “He’s made a right Arce of that.”
A third quipped, “The fact he had to dodge the ref didn’t help; still, this is simply ridiculous.”
One more joked, “Arce is playing real-life pro clubs.”
In reflecting on the incident after the match, Arce admitted it was characteristic of his bold style, assigning some of the blame to referee Andres Merlos.
He said, “It’s in my nature to play fearlessly, and errors can occur. Even the best make mistakes. I’ve had memorable moments, and today was a lesson learned.”
“When I looked up, I saw a light blue figure. They had an overwhelming advantage in that situation.”
In a light-hearted response to Arce’s comments, Merlos joked, “Is it my fault now? That’s classic Nacho, and I admire him.
“He’s a talent who was aiming for a bold play; sometimes, those attempts don’t work out. That’s part of the game.”
