He stated, “You were and will always be my number one, little brother! Your departure has created an endless void, and my love for you will endure until my final moment.”
“I’m unsure how to go on after today because, maybe I never mentioned it, but you have always been my pillar of strength.”
“You were the more astute one of us, charting a promising future for yourself, and I still can’t comprehend that you’re gone.”
“They say Jesus calls the most beautiful souls back too soon to keep them with him in heaven, and I hope you are up there, watching over us with that goodness that characterized you.”
“I will always cherish you, my brother. While life without you will be a struggle, it comforts me to know that one day I will rest beside you.”
According to the Italian news outlet TgCom24, a fire broke out in his apartment located in Mezzocorona, in the Trento province.
Though police and firefighters responded promptly, they arrived too late, and Patrick tragically succumbed to smoke inhalation.
He was just 30 years old.
Vettori, recognized as one of the top European fighters in the UFC, boasts a professional record of 19 victories, eight defeats, and one draw.
He fought for the middleweight title in 2021 but lost to Israel Adesanya.
Presently, Vettori, who trains in both Italy and the United States, has faced losses in his last two bouts.
