Thierry Henry Impressed by Leny Yoro’s Response Following Man Utd’s Goal Concession Against Newcastle

A BAFFLED Thierry Henry admitted that he has “never seen” anything like what Leny Yoro did during the match against Newcastle.

The young French defender played the full match at St James’ Park on Sunday.

The Magpies showcased a commanding performance with a decisive 4-1 victory against Ruben Amorim’s struggling Red Devils.

However, it was Yoro, just 19 years old, who left Henry in disbelief after Newcastle’s third goal – Barnes’s second.

Barnes took advantage of a mistake by Noussair Mazraoui, dribbling past three United defenders before placing it into the top corner.

United’s players Manuel Ugarte, Victor Lindelof, and Christian Eriksen visibly showed their disappointment.

Nevertheless, Yoro inexplicably turned to glance at the assistant referee, seemingly seeking a flag.

There was no indication of a foul on the slip, and it couldn’t possibly be offside, making Yoro’s glance completely pointless.

Henry, sharing the same nationality, was visibly unimpressed.

On Monday Night Football, the former Arsenal star commented: “Look at Yoro and what he is asking for.”

“I can’t understand why… I’m not sure what he’s looking for.”

“He’s peeking at the linesman as if he’s wishing for a reprieve… for what, I can’t quite say.”

‘That should have been me’ – Micah Richards comments on Kate Abdo’s prestigious award nomination while Thierry Henry observes in admiration

“I’m uncertain whether he thought there was an offside, or if he imagined someone – I – we – I don’t know.

“We all acknowledge that it was a goal. What are you looking at?

“I truly don’t get it. I’ve never encountered such a thing before.”

“We all accept it’s a goal.”

Jamie Carragher suggested that Henry’s exaggerated reaction would soon become a viral meme.

‘ABSURD SCENARIO’

However, fans voiced their dissatisfaction regarding the former striker’s commentary, feeling it ridiculed Yoro.

One user expressed: “I respect Henry, but this is absurd. He paused a clip just to make a cheap joke at a young center-back. If Yoro were playing for Fulham or Palace, this type of ‘analysis’ wouldn’t even be considered.”

Another remarked: “What is this commentary? I appreciate Henry’s insights, but this isn’t it!”

A third commenter added: “Diminishing the value of a young player and being theatrical just because he’s getting attention now. Preposterous behavior.”

A fourth user noted: “Henry’s actions are genuinely odd; targeting a young player in this way is strange, especially since defenders do this after almost every goal I’ve watched. It seems choreographed to generate clicks, which it has clearly done.”

Finally, one user suggested: “Defenders often instinctively glance at linesmen. Henry knows this. He’s simply playing to the audience by mocking a teenager with a freeze-frame.”

Man Utd ratings vs Newcastle as Zirkzee shines before injury while Onana’s replacement endures a nightmare

MANCHESTER UNITED’S historically worst Premier League season was cemented with a 4-1 loss to Newcastle.

The Red Devils are now guaranteed to finish with fewer than 56 points, which would be their lowest total in Premier League history.

To achieve that score, they would need to win EVERY one of their last six matches.

If they aren’t cautious, they could even find themselves in 17th place—just one spot above the relegation zone.

Another disheartening day unfolded, highlighting a bleak season for United, as Newcastle easily exploited their weaknesses in the second half.

Ruben Amorim decided to bench keeper Andre Onana following his disastrous outing against Lyon earlier in the week.

However, substitute Altay Bayindir also delivered a forgettable performance.

Sandro Tonali’s volley, a brace from Harvey Barnes, and a goal from Bruno Guimaraes overshadowed Alejandro Garnacho’s solitary strike.
