West Ham Eye Caoimhin Kelleher as Liverpool Establishes Keeper’s Price Tag

WEST HAM is on the hunt for a new No 1 goalkeeper, with Liverpool’s Caoimhin Kelleher topping their list of options.

The Irons are particularly interested in the 26-year-old Republic of Ireland international and are keen to initiate discussions for a potential deal, especially if it can be arranged as a loan.

Kelleher may be up for a transfer from Liverpool, although the club is expected to seek around £20 million for his services.

West Ham is actively searching for a new goalkeeper alongside other summer reinforcements and is exploring several top options.

Another key candidate is Southampton’s Aaron Ramsdale.

The England international is similarly valued at approximately £20m and is keen to stay in the Premier League after Southampton’s relegation.

Graham Potter currently favors Alphonse Areola as his starting goalkeeper.

Nevertheless, Areola has kept only four clean sheets in 21 league appearances this season and has conceded 34 goals.

His difficulties with playing the ball out from the back do not align well with Potter’s tactical framework.

In comparison, Kelleher has showcased his abilities this season, allowing just 20 goals in 20 matches across all competitions and achieving nine clean sheets.

Liverpool seems open to the possibility of parting ways with him, having already completed the signing of Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia.

Kelleher is enthusiastic about leaving Anfield in pursuit of a first-team role elsewhere.

When evaluating Ramsdale’s current position, the statistics reveal a less favorable outlook.

As Southampton sits at the bottom of the league and has already been relegated, he has conceded 57 goals in 24 league matches while only managing two clean sheets.

Nonetheless, Ramsdale is still a highly regarded option among Premier League clubs, who remember his strong performances at Arsenal.

Aiming for a place in England’s squad for the upcoming summer World Cup, Ramsdale would likely be open to the chance of joining the Hammers.
