Bompastor Cheers as Chelsea’s Aggie Beever-Jones Sets Sights on Wembley Cup Final Debut

SONIA BOMPASTOR praised Aggie Beever-Jones for achieving yet another important milestone after Chelsea thwarted Liverpool’s chances in the FA Cup final.

The passionate Blues supporter scored a thrilling stoppage-time winner earlier today, potentially giving her the chance to display her skills in a cup final at Wembley for the first time next month.

Beever-Jones labeled Chelsea’s progression to this year’s FA Cup final as “significant” for the momentum it generates heading into a series of important matches for the Blues.

These include a much-anticipated Champions League semi-final clash against Barcelona, who are hungry to claim the title for a fourth time.

Following her team’s FA Cup semi-final triumph, Beever-Jones stated: “Reaching the final is enormous for us.

“At the season’s onset, we set a target to be in as many finals as we could.”

“Today’s outcome is another positive milestone, and we’re gearing up for a busy month, ready for the final when it arrives.”

Beever-Jones’ decisive goal came just one week after she netted her first senior goal for England during a 5-0 Nations League victory over Belgium.

After falling behind, the Blues fought back as Liverpool’s Olivia Smith scored a surprising opener with a powerful strike, but Erin Cuthbert leveled the score just before halftime.

The Reds endured a flurry of second-half attacks from their opponents, with the score tied in the match’s closing moments.

However, with eight minutes of stoppage time indicated, Beever-Jones found the net in the 94th minute, keeping the WSL leaders’ dreams of a quadruple intact.

Chelsea is now just one win away from securing another trophy in this domestic season.

The Blues’ entry into the final is particularly noteworthy following their League Cup defeat to Man City in March.

They will meet either the Cityzens or their rivals Man United, who are set to clash tomorrow.

On the prospect of Beever-Jones possibly featuring in her first cup final at Wembley, Blues boss Bompastor remarked: “It’s yet another milestone for Aggie.

“This past week has been remarkable for her.

“She’s a wonderfully young and talented player who is making an impactful contribution by creating chances, scoring goals, and assisting others.

“I was thrilled for her to get minutes with England as she’s having an outstanding season at a pivotal time in her career.

“She scored her first (senior) goal for England, which is crucial for her.

“And this goal will only bolster her confidence further, which is great for the team.”

Reflecting on her match-winning goal, Beever-Jones shared: “It means everything to me.

“As a Chelsea fan, helping the team reach the final while scoring so late in the game is incredible.

“Looking back, I realize I could’ve scored a few earlier, potentially easing some stress for the fans.

“But I’m just overjoyed to have scored in those critical final moments.”

Chelsea’s initial advantage began with four corner kicks and a near-miss from Johanna Rytting-Kaneryd before Liverpool took an unexpected lead in the 21st minute.

A precise through ball from Marie Hobinger located Olivia Smith, whose shot found the bottom corner and broke the deadlock.

After falling behind, Chelsea equalized through Erin Cuthbert’s expertly placed finish right before halftime, assisted by Sandy Baltimore’s cross into the box.

The team put on increased pressure in the second half, with Beever-Jones prompting multiple crucial saves from Liverpool’s goalkeeper Rachael Laws.

In the end, a stoppage-time cross from Baltimore reached Beever-Jones, who rose above the defenders to head the ball into the net, confirming the victory.
