Williams Lands Significant Ambassadorial Agreement

As the leading goalkeeper in South Africa, Ronwen Williams has taken on a new role as the official brand ambassador for Tasty Gallos, a delightful food franchise.

The captain of Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns, Williams, has been officially announced as the Official Brand Ambassador for Tasty Gallos.

Tasty Gallos is celebrated as one of South Africa’s fastest-growing and affordable chicken franchises, with investment opportunities beginning at R1.35 million, excluding VAT.

Coach Khaled Ben Yahia of MC Alger is preparing for a tough match against the undefeated Orlando Pirates in the CAF Champions League, expressing confidence in his team’s ability to secure a win.

The partnership marks an exciting new chapter for Tasty Gallos, as they officially collaborate with the award-winning goalkeeper hailing from Gqeberha.

This dynamic partnership is designed to enhance brand trust, increase foot traffic in stores, and attract potential franchise investors while simultaneously connecting the goalkeeper with football supporters.

Known for his leadership and outstanding performances on the field, Williams will bring energy to Tasty Gallos through exclusive meet-and-greet events, social media engagements, and promotional campaigns.

As part of this strategic partnership aimed at growth, the 33-year-old Bafana leader will engage with Tasty Gallos® customers and fans through various initiatives, including in-store events, meet-and-greets, special ‘Captain’s Choice’ meal promotions, social media outreach, and unique digital content, all while promoting awareness of franchise expansion.

Expressing his enthusiasm regarding this ambassadorial role, the two-time Betway Premiership champion with Masandawana remarked, “Tasty Gallos is a proudly South African brand, and I’m thrilled to be part of their journey.” This follows his recent contribution to Sundowns’ victory over ES Esperance in the CAF Champions League quarter-finals held in Tunisia.

Since joining Sundowns prior to the 2022/23 season from SuperSport United, his market value has dramatically increased.

Williams had an exceptional year in 2024, making notable contributions to both club and national teams. He played a crucial role in Bafana Bafana’s bronze medal win at the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, earning both the Goalkeeper of the Tournament and a position in the Team of the Tournament.

At the club level, he led Sundowns to victory in the inaugural African Football League, winning the Player of the Tournament award. Additionally, he claimed the PSL Footballer of the Year title, becoming only the third goalkeeper in history to achieve this, following Andre Arendse and Itumeleng Khune.

Williams gained global recognition by being nominated for the Ballon d’Or Yachine Trophy, which celebrates the world’s top goalkeeper. Although he ultimately lost the award to Emiliano Martinez, he made history as the first African goalkeeper to be nominated for this prestigious honor.

He was also nominated for the FIFA FIFPro World XI, although he did not make the final cut.

At the 2024 CAF Awards, Williams earned significant accolades, winning both the CAF Inter Club Player of the Season and CAF Player of the Year (Based in Africa) awards.

While he narrowly missed out on the overall CAF Footballer of the Year award, which was awarded to Ademola Lookman, his achievements remain impressive.
