Abdo was joined by colleagues Jamie Carragher, Thierry Henry, and Micah Richards for a thrilling evening as Arsenal went up against Real Madrid on Tuesday.

Leading up to the significant match at the Emirates, Richards learned about the sports presenter’s nomination shortly before airtime.

The former Man City star excitedly informed the panel: “We have an Emmy nominee! Take it away, Kate.”

A modest Abdo received accolades from Henry pitchside in North London, with Carragher also applauding from the studio.

She expressed her thanks, saying: “Thank you, everyone!”

Abdo has earned a nomination for Outstanding Personality/Studio Host at this year’s Sports Emmys.

She will be competing against Scott Hanson from NFL Network, Ernie Johnson of TNT, Mike Tirico from NBC, and ESPN’s Scott van Pelt.

The award recipient will be revealed at a ceremony in Manhattan, New York, on May 20.

One fan remarked: “Huge congrats to Kate!”

Another said: “Kate and Kelly Cates are currently at the top of their game and incredibly talented.”

While a third supporter stated: “Kate will win. It’s a no-brainer.”

After her marriage to former boxer Malik Scott last summer, Abdo now goes by Kate Scott.

The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Malibu, California.

They were joined by a small group of family and friends; Henry, Carragher, and Richards were not in attendance.

Kate expressed: “Our wedding was private—just the two of us, really.

“We focused on each other and the commitment we were making.

“It was a sacred ceremony among the Malibu hills, just as we had envisioned it.”
