Khaled Ben Yahia, the coach of MC Alger, is gearing up for a tough battle against the Orlando Pirates, who have yet to lose in the CAF Champions League; however, he is confident that his team has the skills to achieve victory.
In the first leg of the quarter-finals, Alger put forth a strong offensive against the Pirates, but their attempts were thwarted, allowing the Pirates to exploit a counter-attack that was expertly executed by Mohau Nkota, who was substituted in during the second half.
This is the challenge the Algerians need to overcome on Wednesday at Orlando Stadium (18:00).
Like the Pirates, Alger has also claimed the title in the CAF premier club competition and now faces a determined Pirates side that has won four out of five home matches in this season’s Champions League.
“As we head into this match, I recognize that it will be a tough contest filled with determination,” Yahia commented.

“I believe this match will highlight outstanding football,” he continued.
“It’s a highly anticipated game, and we are prepared to put forth a performance that will thrill our supporters; while our opponents have their strengths, we aim for victory.”
Despite a disappointing 1-0 loss in the first leg last week, Yahia noted that they played better and should have come out on top against the Buccaneers.
“That’s why I pointed out that Pirates are a team that capitalizes on opportunities; they made the most of theirs, and that’s what mattered,” he expressed.
“Our team has quality, and we managed to challenge them both physically and tactically.
“However, we did lack in physicality, yet overall, our performance was commendable.”
The winner of this matchup will go on to face the Egyptian club Pyramids in the semi-finals of the tournament. Meanwhile, Pyramids secured their place in the final four by defeating AS FAR.
