KSI’s boxing coach has defended him after the YouTuber was spotted at an Usher concert just a week after he withdrew from a match against Dillon Danis.
The social media star was slated to face MMA fighter Danis on March 29 in Manchester but had to cancel at the last minute due to health issues.

In response to KSI’s concert visit, Danis took to social media to criticize him. Derek Chisora shared a clip on Instagram featuring KSI at the concert, prompting Danis to remark: “You can’t make this up.”
Danis also stated: “@KSI faked the sniffles. He’s a scared little b***h. I was informed he couldn’t even get out of bed, yet he’s out on the night of the fight? WTF.”
KSI’s coach, Alexis Demetriades, came to his defense during an interview on Fred Talks Fighting, stating: “It’s rather strange for people to attack him, as just because I’ve hurt my hand and am in pain, it doesn’t mean I can’t attend a concert.”
He elaborated, “I’m not in the ring anymore; I can’t train at full capacity or push my limits in sparring. That, however, doesn’t inhibit me from enjoying life. Due to KSI’s public persona, many individuals speculate online, questioning, ‘Why is he there? What’s he doing?'”
Demetriades further stated, “He is on antibiotics and feeling unwell—this doesn’t mean he can’t enjoy his life. It’s a distinct situation.”

Demetriades commented, “People may be overanalyzing. He’s a young man who needs some relaxation. If he decides to go to a concert, I find no issue with that.”
KSI provides an alarming statement about his health struggles and updates regarding his boxing future after his latest fight cancellation.
“He’s been unwell for a month, undergone two rounds of antibiotics, and faced significant pressure to perform, which ultimately didn’t work out.”
KSI, now 31 years old, has yet to recover from his first-ever loss, a controversial decision against Tommy Fury, 25, in October 2023. He was originally supposed to fight in August but withdrew due to a hand injury prior to his recent illness.
Moreover, KSI, who established Misfits as a venue for crossover fights, has not confirmed his return to the ring. However, Coach Demetriades expects the Britain’s Got Talent judge will fight again and hinted at a possible matchup against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
He remarked, “We would be excited for that fight; I think it would be an amazing match.” He further indicated, “The fight everyone is looking for is KSI vs. Jake Paul, but KSI isn’t necessarily focused on that right now. It would certainly be intriguing for the audience to watch JJ battle someone orthodox with over 200 wins and 56 victories who is also a former world champion—quite appealing for JJ.”
He’s been on antibiotics and he’s ill and he can’t fight – doesn’t mean he can’t enjoy his life.

Chavez Jr., the son of boxing icon Julio Cesar Sr., held the WBC middleweight title from 2011-2012 and went the full distance with Canelo Alvarez in a 2017 match but has faced challenges in his recent bouts.
Chavez, 39, faced a loss to UFC star Anderson Silva at age 49 in a 2021 bout but secured victory against MMA middleweight Uriah Hall last summer in a crossover boxing event. Earlier this year, he had discussions about facing KSI and has been associated with a potential fight against Paul, 28, in the past.
Demetriades downplayed the necessity for a warm-up fight despite KSI’s recent inactivity, insisting, “Personally, I’m not in favor of tune-up fights.”
“I believe we should concentrate on training and prepare for a direct fight. From my viewpoint, our sparring sessions and the intensity we impose on KSI showcase that he rises to the occasion on fight day.”
“When he enters the ring, he knows how to perform. I have no worries about his ability to compete; that’s his strength.”
