EMI MARTINEZ is causing a stir in France once again — donning an Argentina cap and sporting his country’s colors dyed into his hair.
The Aston Villa goalkeeper, who became a legend during the penalty shoot-out in the 2022 World Cup final against France, showed up for the Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain wearing a baseball cap that appeared to provoke his hosts.

Villa’s manager, Unai Emery, has encouraged his goalkeeper to “manage his emotions” prior to the quarter-final first leg at Parc des Princes.
Nonetheless, Martinez maintained his playful demeanor, wearing a cap that emphasized the FOUR international titles he has earned with Argentina, complete with a pen-drawn French cockerel.
At 32, Martinez appeared to have dyed the blue and white colors of the Argentina flag into the side of his head.
Usually, he dyes his hair in this manner for national duty but seems to have retained it for this occasion as a jest towards Les Bleus.
Although Emery, who previously coached Martinez at Arsenal, noted: “He is growing up and becoming more responsible. He’s getting better at controlling his emotions.

In addition to his achievements, Martinez’s gamesmanship has made him a target for jeers in France, particularly during Villa’s Conference League match in Lille last season.
