Michail Antonio Shares Emotional Instagram Message After Hospital Release Following Harrowing Car Accident

West Ham’s Michail Antonio has posted a heartfelt message online after being discharged from the hospital following a severe car accident.

The Hammers captain suffered a broken leg in the incident involving his £260,000 Ferrari, which required his airlift to the hospital earlier this month.

In a touching Instagram post, Antonio expressed his appreciation for the emergency services and the football community, promising to return to the field shortly.

He shared: “Every year at this time, I’m asked what I’m grateful for, and each time, I’ve struggled to find the right words.

“But this year, I know exactly what I’m thankful for: for being alive.

“I’ve spent so many years taking life for granted. I would plan for the next day, the coming year, always assuming tomorrow would come.

“What I’ve gone through recently has truly opened my eyes.

“Life is fragile, and every moment is precious.

“I am immensely grateful to God for giving me the strength to endure and for allowing me to be here still.

“To the emergency services, the NHS, The Air Ambulance, and everyone at the Royal London and Cromwell hospitals, as well as everyone at West Ham United FC.

“The medical team, the board, all the staff, my teammates, and the amazing West Ham fans… I truly couldn’t have made it through this without each of you. Thank you from the depths of my heart.

“To my loved ones who have stood by me through everything, I can’t express how much you mean to me.

“Finally, to the entire football community, thank you for all the kindness and support you’ve shown me. It truly means the world.

“I love you all, and I am forever thankful for each and every one of you.

“Happy New Year – and I’ll be back on that pitch soon.”
