GARY NEVILLE jokingly suggested that Jamie Carragher should offer an apology as the pundits assessed their Premier League predictions.
At the midway point of the season, the Sky Sports duo took the chance to reflect on and potentially adjust their initial forecasts made before the season began.
Neville correctly forecasted that Southampton, Ipswich, and Leicester would face relegation.
Carragher also predicted relegation for the Saints and the Foxes but made a severe miscalculation by suggesting that Nottingham Forest would go down.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s team currently occupies the second spot in the table with 37 points and is striving for Champions League qualification.
Neville humorously commented that Carragher ought to apologize to Forest supporters for underestimating them.
Nonetheless, both agreed that the overachieving team will end the season in sixth place.
At the season’s start, Carragher was convinced that Manchester City would secure the league title.
However, with his former club Liverpool standing eight points clear at the top, he adjusted his prediction to reflect that Arne Slot’s side would clinch the title.
On the other hand, Neville remained firm in his belief that Arsenal would win the Premier League.

He stated: “Liverpool are heavy favorites and in fantastic form, but there’s still much of the season left to play.
“That said, I think Arsenal possesses the resilience and a robust defense that can see them through.

“I believe they will remain competitive, and if the title race tightens as the season concludes, they might just catch Liverpool. That’s my hope.”
Neville boldly predicted that his beloved Manchester United would finish in third place.
He even wagered with Carragher that United would finish ahead of Liverpool.
Neville conceded he might be “paying out early,” given that the Red Devils are currently in 14th place and manager Ruben Amorim has acknowledged that avoiding relegation is a “possibility”.
While facing some playful mockery, Neville retorted: “Where did Carragher predict Manchester United would be at the start of the season? Was it fifth?”
Carragher replied: “Well, it definitely wasn’t above Liverpool.”
