BURNLEY has finalized the signing of defender Oliver Sonne from Danish club Silkeborg.
The Peruvian right-back becomes the first signing for Clarets manager Scott Parker during the January transfer window, signing on a four-and-a-half-year deal.
Sonne, aged 24, is the nephew of the acclaimed supermodel Helena Christensen and has accumulated over 100 appearances in Denmark’s top football league.
After the announcement was made on New Year’s Eve, he shared his enthusiasm: “I’m really excited!
“Experiencing the club and its facilities is truly amazing.
“This club has significant ambitions, with the aim being to return to the Premier League, and I will do my utmost to help realize that goal.”
Christensen, now 56, was crowned Miss Universe Denmark in 1986, after which she represented her country at the Miss Universe competition.
She subsequently launched a successful modeling career, gracing the covers of prestigious magazines such as Vogue, Elle, and Tatler.

Moreover, she was also a Victoria’s Secret Angel.
Helena was part of the iconic Magnificent Seven alongside supermodels Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, and Elle Macpherson in the mid-1990s.

Sonne has also ventured into modeling, following his aunt’s legacy, collaborating with brands like Gucci and Armani.
He commented, “There was a period when I did quite a bit of modeling.
“I had some incredible opportunities worldwide with many top brands popular among the youth. It was wonderful to explore that aspect of my life.”
Sonne joins Burnley as the team currently sits third in the Championship, just three points behind Sheffield United, who holds the second promotion position.
Parker’s squad is determined to make an immediate return to the Premier League following their relegation last season.
