Leerdam, 25, took part in the 500m sprint on the second day of the competition held at Thialf in Heerenveen, Netherlands.
Leerdam’s remarkable win was celebrated by a proud Paul, 27, who cheered from the audience.

This couple has been together for almost two years, making their relationship public in April 2023.
Leerdam also competed in the 2022 Winter Olympic Games held in Beijing, where she earned a silver medal in the Women’s 1,000m race.
Furthermore, she placed fifth in the women’s 500m race, marking her first appearance at the Olympics.
In March 2022, Leerdam secured the Women’s Sprint title at the World Speed Skating Championships in Hamar, Norway.
On March 4, 2023, she also captured a gold medal in the Women’s 1,000m race at the World Speed Skating Championships in Heerenveen.
