IPSWICH TOWN has alerted fans regarding travel issues as the army investigates an “unexploded shell” in Suffolk.
The Tractor Boys have urged supporters to allow for extra travel time to Portman Road ahead of their match against Chelsea this evening.
Ipswich posted on X to notify fans that their journey to the stadium may require more time than expected.
A statement from Suffolk Police on their X account mentioned: “A 100m cordon is being set up at Bourne Bridge, Ipswich, while an army team assesses a suspected unexploded shell.
“Travelers should anticipate additional time for their travels, as road closures are likely to affect the A137/B1456 and A137/Hawes Street roundabouts.”
At this moment, it remains unclear whether this situation will cause delays for tonight’s Premier League fixture.
The match between Ipswich and Chelsea is scheduled to kick off at 7:45pm.
