MARCUS Rashford was seen looking downcast as he departed Manchester United’s training facility following a surprising interview where he revealed his intention to leave Old Trafford.
The 27-year-old forward, who is pursuing an exit, was photographed in the back of a chauffeur-driven Bentley after leaving United’s Carrington training center on Saturday.
Currently serving a six-month driving ban, Rashford tried to hide from cameras as he sat in the backseat of the tinted vehicle with his hood pulled up.
The Manchester United forward recently acquired a new £200,000 Flying Spur Azure to travel to training in style.
Onlookers commented: “Marcus seemed very down and looked like he was carrying a heavy burden.”
Earlier this month, Rashford mentioned that he was “ready for a new challenge,” just two days after being left out of new manager Ruben Amorim’s squad for the Derby match against Man City on December 15.
The striker remarked: “Personally, I feel I’m prepared for a new challenge and what comes next.”
He has now been omitted from the last four matchday lineups. United is set to face Newcastle tomorrow.
Rashford has scored 138 goals in 426 appearances for the club since making his debut in 2016, having risen through the ranks of the United academy.
He signed a contract worth £350,000 per week after netting 30 goals in the 2022-23 season.
Nonetheless, he has struggled to replicate that form this season, managing to find the net only four times thus far.
