LIVERPOOL secured a crucial 2-1 victory against Chelsea at Anfield, preserving their top spot in the Premier League.
The Reds achieved their inaugural win against a team situated in the upper echelon of the Premier League standings.
This was a powerful message from manager Arne Slot, with his squad now one point ahead of Manchester City and four points in front of third-placed Arsenal.
Mohamed Salah commenced the scoring just before the 30-minute mark by converting a penalty.
However, Chelsea leveled the score just three minutes into the second half with a goal from Nicolas Jackson.
Nonetheless, Liverpool secured the three points with Curtis Jones’ goal shortly thereafter.
So, how did each Liverpool player perform? Check out Ken Lawrence’s player ratings below:
CAOIMHIN KELLEHER – 5
For the Kop – and likely for manager Arne Slot as well – still missing the commanding presence of a top-tier goalkeeper.
TRENT ALEXANDER-ARNOLD – 5
Appeared somewhat unsettled throughout, notably against Malo Gusto’s first-half incursions.
IBRAHIMA KONATE – 5
Caught off guard by Nicolas Jackson’s run, leading to Chelsea’s equalizer shortly after the halftime break.
VIRGIL VAN DIJK – 7
Even with his countrymen in the Netherlands, he showcased outstanding defensive skills once more.
ANDY ROBERTSON – 6
The Scotland captain is often recognized for his offensive prowess, but he executed a remarkable last-second block.
RYAN GRAVENBERCH – 7
After only 12 appearances in Jurgen Klopp’s final season, he continually demonstrated why he’s a regular under Slot.
CURTIS JONES – 9
Outstanding across the pitch, earned a penalty that could have been two, and scored a vital winner.
DOMINIK SZOBOSZLAI– 5
Displayed inconsistency again, often playing at a slower tempo than his teammates.
MOHAMED SALAH – 7
What more can be said about Anfield’s Egyptian king and his composed penalty kick?
DIOGO JOTA – 4
Had to leave early due to discomfort following a challenge from Tosin Adarabioyo.
CODY GAKPO – 5
In and out of the match, he didn’t seem surprised to be substituted.

LUIS DIAZ (for Gakpo 65) – 5
Consistently showcased his energetic pace on the left wing.
ALEXIS MAC ALLISTER (for Curtis Jones 81) – 5
After recovering from illness earlier in the week, he showed his typical determination.
JOE GOMEZ (for Trent Alexander-Arnold 81) – 5
Gained some much-needed playing time as he finds himself lower in the hierarchy.
