Jamie Carragher believes that the only thing that could stand in Liverpool’s way of securing the Premier League title is an injury crisis.
The Sky Sports analyst is confident that his former team will outperform Arsenal by the end of the season.
dedicated his entire 17-year career to Liverpool, appearing in over 500 matches for the club.
During his time at Anfield, the 46-year-old never had the chance to lift the Premier League trophy.
Nonetheless, he believes that Arne Slot’s squad is almost unbeatable this season, particularly following their recent impressive win against West Ham.
In an article for The Telegraph, Carragher states, “Chelsea still aren’t ready to challenge for the championship.”
He forecasts that “Liverpool will surpass Arsenal for second place.”
Carragher also commented, “My biggest worry for Liverpool is the potential for injuries to key players.”
“If they manage to avoid injuries, they will be hard to catch.”
The former England international remains optimistic that Manchester City will bounce back from their recent struggles and finish the season in fourth position.
Pep Guardiola’s team has only secured their second victory in 14 games against Leicester on Sunday.

In Manchester, Carragher is skeptical about whether Ruben Amorim‘s rebuilding phase at Man Utd has truly commenced.
The Portuguese manager has overseen his side winning just four times in ten matches, enduring five losses in that span.
Gary Neville throws a drink at Carragher after Liverpool concedes a lead to Newcastle, leading fans to comment ‘he was going to confront him there’
Carragher remarked, “Ruben Amorim has a significant job ahead with a fresh start.
“He will need more time and support, particularly to aid the exit of underperforming players on large contracts.
“What’s happening at United is quite predictable – a mix of decent results with reminders of why a change in management was necessary.”
Despite United’s challenges both on and off the field, Carragher is confident that Amorim is the right choice for the position.
Man Utd ratings vs Wolves

By Ken Lawrence
Wolves achieved a remarkable upset on Boxing Day, continuing Manchester United’s woes.
The 2-0 defeat leaves Ruben Amorim with only two wins across the seven Premier League matches he has managed.
United currently sits 14th in the league, additionally troubled by Bruno Fernandes’ red card and Andre Onana conceding a goal directly from a corner.
Here are SunSport’s ratings for the players’ performances…
Andre Onana: 4
He needed to make a quick save against Jorgen Strand Larsen in the first half but severely misjudged the corner from Cunha, leading to the opening goal; his claim of obstruction by Matt Doherty was dismissed.
Leny Yoro: 5
Returning to the lineup, he received a yellow card just four minutes in for a foul on Cunha, placing him in a precarious position and resulting in constant pressure from Wolves. He was substituted shortly after the hour mark.
Harry Maguire: 6
The English defender worked hard to keep United competitive during extended phases of pressure, and at least limited the damage until the closing moments, even managing a header on goal in stoppage time.
Lisandro Martinez: 6
Partnering well with Maguire, he helped to prevent Wolves from achieving a greater victory, holding strong and making crucial tackles in the final stages before Wolves capitalized on a counter-attack in the match’s dying moments.
Noussair Mazraoui: 5
Determined and tenacious but faced a significant challenge from the standout performer of the day – Cunha.
Manuel Ugarte: 5
Struggled against a lively Wolves attack and was dispossessed too easily at times, leading to his substitution when Fernandes was sent off.
Kobbie Mainoo: 5
He started brightly, creating several opportunities but faded after a yellow card in the second half, ultimately being replaced.
Diogo Dalot: 6
He forced a superb save from Jose Sa in the first half, providing one of the few highlights for United but did not significantly influence the overall disappointing team performance.
Amad Diallo: 5
He appeared disconnected from his teammates at times and seemed a shadow of the player who dramatically turned the Manchester derby two weeks prior.
Bruno Fernandes: 3
He received a red card early in the second half for a second yellow after a foul on Nelson Semedo, but had already been a frustrated presence before this incident.
Rasmus Hojlund: 5
He showed clear frustration at times due to a lack of service, had little effect up front, and was substituted with ten minutes remaining.
SUBSTITUTES
Casemiro (for Mainoo, 63 mins): 6
Christian Eriksen (for Ugarte, 63 mins): 6
Antony (for Yoro, 63 mins): 6
Alejandro Garnacho (for Amad, 79 mins): 5
Joshua Zirkzee (for Hojlund, 79 mins): 5
Carragher envisions that by December 2025, Manchester United will evolve into a “better and more consistent team,” especially once Amorim has completed a full pre-season and integrated new players to fulfill his vision.
The 2005 champion speculated that either Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, or Real Madrid could lift the trophy in May.
Carragher remarked, “No one wants to face Real Madrid in the knockout rounds because they always seem to find a way to progress, no matter how they are performing.
“Bayern Munich is also looking formidable and consistently reaches the latter stages.
“And then there’s Liverpool, who boast a flawless record at the moment.
“These four teams are those that every other side will be hoping to avoid.”
