Cristiano Ronaldo has sparked significant speculation about a potential secret marriage to his partner, Georgina Rodriguez.
The 39-year-old football legend referred to Rodriguez as his “wife” during his acceptance speech at the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards.
Ronaldo received two honors during the lavish ceremony in Dubai on Friday.
The Al Nassr forward was recognized as Best Middle Eastern Player and also received an award for being the All-Time Top Goalscorer.
During his acceptance speech, CR7 dedicated the award to Georgina – who stunned onlookers with her eye-catching outfit – and his son Cristiano Jr., 14.
Ronaldo stated: “It’s a great honor to receive this trophy. My oldest son is here, my wife [Georgina] is here.”
Rodriguez and Ronaldo have been together since 2016 and are parents to two children – Alana Martina, 8, and Bella, 2.
Moreover, she lovingly plays the role of stepmother to his three older kids – twins Eva and Mateo, 7, and Cristiano Jr.
The affectionate duo has never confirmed their marital status publicly, leading to a whirlwind of speculation following Ronaldo’s comment.
One fan shared on X: “Ronaldo calls Georgina ‘MY WIFE’ but these naysayers will still insist they aren’t married. Do you think they’d invite you?”

This isn’t the first time Ronaldo has called Rodriguez his wife publicly.
Earlier this summer, the couple appeared on Ronaldo’s YouTube channel, where he introduced her as his partner.
After the release of the video, Ronaldo’s publicist remarked to PEOPLE that they had “no knowledge of whether Cristiano is married to Georgina”.
