Darts Fan Reveals Plans After Winning £60,000

Damon Heta’s perfect nine-darter earlier today awarded a lucky supporter an impressive £60,000 prize – the second prize presented during the World Darts Championship as part of PaddyPower’s The BIGGER 180 initiative.

The lucky winner shared his plans for the winnings with PaddyPower.

37-year-old Mauro, an avid darts fan and educator, made the journey from Switzerland to attend the event.

On his win and future aspirations, he said: “I told my family and friends that I’d cover the entire trip if I won – I honestly never expected it to happen! I’m absolutely thrilled.”

“This is our third time visiting Alexandra Palace. We came to enjoy some football and darts – it has been a fantastic outing with the guys, and winning this just makes it even more unforgettable.”

“I’ve recently taken over my family home.”

“We plan to use the £60,000 to put in new windows; it might seem a bit dull, but they are really needed for the house!”

“I’ll also cover all expenses for my friends and buy some more beers! That’s my plan!”

Paddy Power is also contributing £1,000 for every 180 scored during the tournament, while urging 180,000 men to complete Prostate Cancer UK’s 30-second online risk assessment.
