The visibility was so poor that supporters shared their struggles to follow the match, as fog hindered their view.

One mentioned: “I’m spending my evening watching a foggy screen on Amazon Prime.”

Another remarked: “The fog appears to be getting worse. They should call off the game right about now.”

A fan lamented: “This match is impossible to keep up with.”

An additional fan added: “The weather is crazy. I can’t see anything.”

Even Specsavers joined in, tweeting: “Hey @primevideosport, your camera seems to be behind a cloud.”

Leicester stunned many by taking an early lead with Jordan Ayew scoring in the sixth minute before Cody Gakpo equalized.

Concerns had already been raised about the match continuing after nearby Tranmere abandoned their match against Accrington Stanley.

In spite of the situation, Liverpool released a statement: “If you’re heading to the match today, please plan to leave earlier than normal due to the foggy conditions around Anfield stadium.”

“Drive safely.”
