Today is set to be an exhilarating day in the world of sports, with one particular event shining above the rest.
Kempton Park will be the venue for the latest edition of the King George, featuring an electrifying clash between Constitution Hill and Lossiemouth. Our specialist, Templegate, has compiled his Placepot picks for this important occasion.

The Placepot lets you place bets on a horse to place in the FIRST SIX races of any meeting.
You can select multiple horses for a race, multiplying the number of choices across the races to calculate your stake. For instance, if you choose 2x2x2x1x2x2, your total would be 32 lines.
Your stake can range from 5p per line (costing £1.60 in total) to 10p per line (£3.20), and even higher. You’ll secure a payout as long as at least one selection in each race places!

Kempton Placepot picks – Boxing Day, Thursday December 26
LEG 1: Asta La Pasta, El Rio
ASTA LA PASTA allowed his competitors too much leeway last time, securing third place at Newbury with a strong finish. This was a commendable performance over fences and he has built upon his prior win at Carlisle. Today, he intends to stay nearer the pace and effectively utilize his stamina.
EL RIO jumped with assurance, leading from the front to victory at Sandown last month. He managed the distance well and has room for growth under Kim Bailey. Though elevated 8lb for this more challenging race, he remains a strong contender for a place.
LEG 2: The Jukebox Man, Hyland
THE JUKEBOX MAN showcased remarkable skill by winning the Grade 2 John Francome in his chasing debut at Newbury last month. His capabilities were already evident from his close second in the Albert Bartlett, and he appears to have made a successful transition to the larger jumps.
HYLAND is consistently improving for Nicky Henderson, recently securing victory in a Listed race at Cheltenham while leading. He has proven his aptitude over this three-mile distance and has more potential to unleash.
LEG 3: Constitution Hill, Lossiemouth
CONSTITUTION HILL aims to assert his dominance upon his return after triumping in this race last year. Despite enduring multiple setbacks that kept him sidelined, his previous performances eclipse those of his rivals. Even as he prepares for a peak showing in March, he has shown a preference for this track with wins in the last two editions; favorable ground boosts his performance.
LOSSIEMOUTH stands as a formidable competitor and enjoys a 7lb allowance as a mare. She achieved a solid victory over Teahupoo in the Hatton’s Grace, a race that may not have fully highlighted her potential given that the trip didn’t favor her main rival, and the ground was somewhat quick. She could build on her success, possibly taking down Constitution Hill today. Undefeated in eight hurdle races, she is certainly up to this challenge.

LEG 4: Il Est Francais, Banbridge
IL EST FRANCAIS showcased an outstanding performance while winning the Kauto Star here last Christmas. Although he underperformed at Auteuil last time, he has a history of rebounding from disappointing results. He stays well, enjoys firm ground, and is an excellent jumper.
BANBRIDGE has been anticipating suitable ground conditions and boasts a Grade 2 victory here. He put up a fierce contest against Energumene last time and will be a strong contender if he adapts to the extended distance.
LEG 5: Kientzheim
KIENTZHEIM is a relative of the 2020 Champion Hurdler Epatante and has been acquired by JP McManus from the same trainer as that star when she began. She has notched a couple of victories in bumpers across the Channel and is set to make a successful debut for Nicky Henderson, proudly wearing the green and gold silks.
LEG 6: Doddiethegreat, East India Express
DODDIETHEGREAT will welcome the return to hurdles after a lackluster chase outing and aims for his second victory at this course and distance. He shines on decent ground and is running 3lb lower than his near-miss last season in the Greatwood Hurdle.
EAST INDIA EXPRESS achieved a gritty win upon his comeback at Ascot just six days ago after a long layoff. He thrives in this ground condition and poses a significant threat off the same rating, provided this quick turnaround doesn’t prove too demanding.
